Kony 2012

It was the internet sensation that attracted over 74 million viewers focusing on the capture of Ugandan war lord Joseph Kony. The video raced across social media sites and had #StopKony trending almost imediately after its release – @stop___kony.

But now, according to the Mail Online, the chariety behind the grand scheme – ‘Invisable Children’ are under serious scrunteny, after the groups intentions are called into question by sceptical critics.

Critics have focus their attention on a 2008 photo of the Invisible Children founders holding two assault rifles and a rocket-propelled grenade launcher as they pose with members of the Sudanese People’s Liberation Army during stalled peace talks with Kony.
